Where Passion for Junior Golf Becomes a Lifelong Love for the Game
EduGolfKids was founded out of a deep passion for junior golf—one that has spanned decades, countries, and thousands of young lives.
It all began in 1999, when Morne Botha, a certified PGA Teaching Professional, introduced golf to a handful of schools in South Africa. What started as a small initiative quickly grew into a mission: to teach children the game of golf in a way that is fun, structured, and effective.
Through years of hands-on coaching, Morne developed the ideal introduction to golf—a method that balances enjoyment with proper fundamentals, and leads children toward playing real golf confidently. His coaching has shaped the careers of five Junior World Champions, multiple professionals, and thousands more who now enjoy golf socially or leverage it in their business lives.
Recognized as one of the Top 10 Junior Coaches in South Africa, Morne has led and mentored a team of passionate coaches, all driven by the same mission: to make golf accessible and rewarding for children of all backgrounds.
But EduGolfKids is more than a coaching program—it’s a family story.
Morne’s wife, Mari-Lize, is the ultimate “golf mom” and a driving force behind the program’s heart and culture. Together, they’ve raised four children who all play golf and live the game every day. It’s a lifestyle they’ve built and now share with families across their community.
Now based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Botha family is bringing their proven school-based golf program to children across the U.S. One school at a time, they’re igniting a love for golf—developing not just future athletes, but confident, focused, and well-rounded young people.
